Kali Asin Embankment will Be Fixed Immediately

Jakarta Provincial Government will immediately fix the leakage of Kali Asin embankment at Pluit, Penjaringan. The plans, the early stages of repair will be prioritized at the sluice gate of the embankment.

Previously, Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidajat found 3 leakage points during his visit to Kali Asin. The leakage points were found at Kali Asin sluice gate in RT 01/01, river embankment in RT 10/01, and behind the pump house in RW 02, Pluit Sub-District.

Djarot said, his side will do improvement as soon as possible because it is feared if the embankment broken-down will cause casualties to the citizens. "Now, the APBD (city budget) still being discussed. But, because we need a quick response, we will find the budget from CSR (corporate social responsibility)," he said, Wednesday (1/21).

As the priority, added Djarot, his side will precede the improvement at the sluice gate with 10 meters in wide. Meanwhile, the improvement of the both side embankment will use sheet pile and wait the APBD to be passed.

"To fix the sluice gate, we will communicate with the enterprises around the location, while the sheet pile alongside the embankment will take budget from APBD," he explained.

However, Djarot admitted could not estimate the budget for the improvement. To solve that, he will ask the Management Water of Public Work Department to calculate and make the budget of the improvement.
